Open Access and Open Science Guidance for Authors
Open access concerns how research can be accessed and reused under applicable terms. Authors should check the journal’s publication model, licence, costs and funder rules before choosing a route.
Are all open-access routes identical?
No. Routes can differ in licensing, versions, fees and repository conditions. Read the publisher’s current policy and the requirements applying to your research funding.
Does open access establish journal quality?
Access terms alone do not establish editorial quality or indexing coverage. Assess journal identity, scope, policies and the relevant official coverage record separately.
Which version can I share?
Check the publishing agreement and repository policy for the specific manuscript version. Do not assume the accepted manuscript and the publisher’s version have identical sharing permissions.
