How to Verify SSCI Journal Coverage

Check the journal’s exact title and ISSN in Clarivate’s Master Journal List and inspect the collection information relevant to your requirement. Record the check date and investigate discrepancies before submitting.

Which identifiers should I compare?

Compare the title, ISSN or eISSN and publisher with the official journal website. Similar titles and journal websites can be confusing, so avoid relying on a search snippet or an indexing badge alone.

Does Web of Science coverage always mean SSCI?

No. Check the specific collection recorded for the journal. A general Web of Science claim does not by itself establish Social Sciences Citation Index coverage.

Does current journal coverage prove my article is indexed?

Journal coverage and an individual article record are different checks. For an article-level requirement, examine the relevant record, publication dates and institutional criteria.

What evidence should I retain?

Record the source URL, identifiers, collection information and date checked. Recheck time-sensitive information near submission and ask your institution about ambiguous eligibility rules.
